Hi all, Mima here!
Hope everyone is doing well despite everything going on around us!
In this video I talk about the learning resources I use to gain IT knowledge and certification.
Since we are social distancing, it is a perfect time to review your jobs responsibilities and learn new skills to move up. If you are looking for a new job, think about where you want to be in the future and then go after it.
Microsoft Learn: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/
Knowledge Bases Discussed:
Breakdown of each:
My primary IT resource is CBTNuggets. This website provides a wide range of online lectures taught by IT professionals in a whiteboard style. Subscribers have access to these self paced training videos 24/7, which makes it convenient to study on your own time.
What I like about CBTNuggets is that it offers training for different career paths. You can sort the video by vendor or you can sort by career path. This helps you decide what skills or certifications to go after!
Another site that I frequently use is Microsoft Learn. Microsoft offers free role based training and learning paths for Azure, 365, Power Platform and more. Similar to CBTNuggets, these training sessions are self paced and can prep you for IT certifications.
To get started, all you need is a free Microsoft account, then you can start training, look at certifications available and join the Microsoft community
Udacity and Edx are educational resources that provide university courses online and are taught by university professors. These programs offer a wide range of subjects, some are self paced and free, others are not.
Most vendors have knowledge base or documentation to help with common procedure or troubleshoot common issues. Some vendors even offer how-to videos and tutorials, which are very helpful when you are in a pickle.
I hope you enjoyed this video! If you want an extended version on any of the topics I mentioned, please let me know!
Stay safe & stay productive!
